About Basic Training
If
you've never participated in a BASIC
TRAINING class before, you probably have
some questions. We've done our best to
anticipate them, but if there's anything
you'd like to know that's not answered
here, shoot us an email at
questions@gobasictraining.com.
1.
What is a typical class like?
The
program is six weeks long, and most
locations meet three times per week:
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Each
class session is an hour long, and
consists of 20-40 minutes of exercise
followed by a group run. One helpful
hint: plan on being on time.
2.
Will this program be too difficult for
me?
Whether
you're an accomplished athlete or have
never worked out a day in your life,
you'll find yourself pushed to your
limits. BASIC TRAINING is a
physically demanding class, but if you
commit to stick with it, you will
succeed. All we need from you is your
best.
3. I
can't run and I have an injury that limits
my ability to do certain exercises. Can
I still take the program?
In most
cases, you can still take BASIC TRAINING, even if you're physically
limited in what you can do. If you can't
run, you can walk as fast as you're
able. If you can't do certain exercises,
we can give you modified versions.
4.
I've heard that boot camps and classes
like it can get people hurt. Is BASIC
TRAINING safe?
Unfortunately, there are a lot of
programs out there where the instructor
is more concerned with being "tough"
than being professional. The main
mistakes they make are pushing people to
continue on in spite of joint pain, and
giving their people exercises that are
inherently unsafe.
Any
exercise program carries with it the
risk of injury, but smart instructors
work hard at guarding their people from
injury. In BASIC TRAINING, we will push
you to go beyond your limits, but we
will never push you to go beyond what is
in keeping with sound training
principles.
5.
Does the instructor ever humiliate
anyone?
No. You
can count on your instructor to be loud,
hard-driving, and a lot of fun- but
never mean-spirited.
6.
What does BASIC TRAINING cost, and how
do I sign up?
Each
location has the freedom to set its own
prices, so costs will vary. In order to
reserve a spot in the class, you'll need
to either call or visit the location
you're attending and pay in advance.
Check the LOCATIONS tab at the top of
the page for more info.
