Franchise Opportunities

As a health club owner or manager,
you have the responsibility to provide
quality fitness programming that serves
the interests of your membership, and
which positively impacts your club's bottom
line. Sometimes however,
decisions are made on the basis of
"what's hot this year". The problem is
obvious- fitness is a fickle industry,
and what's "hot" this year is
usually what's "not" the next.
In many clubs, group
fitness classes are operated as "loss
leaders". Health clubs use the temporary
buzz and excitement of these classes to
pull in new members and to help retain
current members, hoping that the
membership fees gained will offset the
cost of running the class. We'd like to
encourage you to expect more from your
fitness programming than a few brief
seasons of popularity. Actually, we
think you should expect a great deal
more:
Longevity Every savvy business
owner knows that there is an inherent
cost in frequent turnover. As one of the
original pioneers of the boot camp
fitness concept, The Original Basic
Training has been able to maintain
high numbers (and multiple classes per
day) for many years. The reason? Our
success is not tied to what's new and
flashy. We routinely deliver the two
things that your members are looking for
from your club: great physical
results, and a place to "plug in" and
get to know like-minded members.
Revenue Loss
leaders can be useful...but why use a
loss leader when you can put another
profit center into your class lineup? We
can guide you with pricing the class for
your area, but what you charge is
entirely up to you. In any case, you'll
add thousands per year to your club's
bottom line in direct sales alone, and
at a price that any club can afford.

Retention Losing
members is expensive. How does The Original Basic Training
address this problem? In our six-week
program, we regularly see remarkable weight loss and
significant improvements in overall
conditioning because the
program safely and effectively trains
participants at or near their personal
peak. What's more, we've woven camaraderie and teambuilding
elements into the program that
invariably take a
roomful of strangers and turn them into
a tight-knit group of friends. The
bottom line is this: when your members
are meeting and exceeding their fitness
goals, and their shared experience in
the Basic Training program results in
new friendships with other members, it
creates a loyalty to your club that
translates into value for your members
and improved rates of member retention
for you.
Recruitment
Whatever methods of member recruitment
you're using, you're probably spending
money in the hope that potential new
members will come
in and like what they see. We take a
different approach. Dozens of class
participants trooping past the reception
desk and out for their regular group run
are hard to miss, so The Original
Basic Training is one class that all
your members and neighbors will know
about. As the program literally
advertises itself to your members and
your surrounding community, the
participants are also actively spreading
the word to friends, family and
co-workers. We always encourage clubs to
create a two-tier pricing structure for
the program (slightly higher cost for
non-members). In opening the program to
non-members, you're accomplishing two
important things:

1. You're turning member recruitment
into another source of revenue instead
of an expense.
2. Non-member program participants
are going to get into great shape
too...and they are going to want to
maintain what they've gained. What better
place than your club, where they have
just spent the last six weeks making
friends with your members and forming the habit of training?
Membership sales
don't get any easier than that!
In addition to the benefits we
provide in terms of revenues and
membership recruitment and retention,
The Original Basic Training is an
affordable program for any club. Our
regular fees include program setup and
instructor training, as well as ongoing
and intensive quality control.
