Diet and Food info

For years we've been asked to provide
information and accountability with
diet, and we're pleased to
now offer you a way to get get both of
those things at no additional cost.
Lance Armstrong's "Live Strong"
Foundation has a
dietary program and
journal that counts
calories and analyzes the makeup of your
diet to help you with your weight loss
and nutritional goals. It's an excellent
tool which you can access by clicking
here. Remember, though it is a free
service, you still need to register to
get an account. Also, if you are going
to track your diet and you'd like some
accountability to help "keep you on the
straight and narrow", we'll show you how
to forward your weekly journal results
to your instructor for his or her
review. Click

information center.
Proper Footwear for
Running

Because running is such an integral
part of Basic Training, we're
continually asked about running shoes. There are a
lot of variables you need to consider
when you're looking for a shoe.
Unfortunately, there really is no "best
shoe"; there is only the best shoe for
you. Choice of athletic shoes depends on
the activity you're going to use them
for, your budget, and a host of
particulars about your feet. However,
the "why" of picking good shoes is
actually very simple. Proper shoes will
help you to avoid injuries and to
maximize your performance. Interested in
finding out more about selecting the
right shoes for you? Click

for a wealth of information and learn to determine how to get the right
shoes at the right price.
Aches and Pains

Painful muscles and joints can limit
your ability to exercise, or even keep
you from your fitness regimen
altogether. While this section is not meant to be a
diagnostic tool for determining and
treating injuries, it can provide you
with good
information that will help you to make
informed decisions as to whether your
injuries warrant a doctor's visit, or if
some rest and icepacks are in order.
Check out the gobasictraining
sports injuries page by clicking
here, where you can
review categorized information on how to
recognize and deal with minor training
injuries, as well as how to protect
yourself from injury
in the first place.
